--- name: proposal-generator description: Use this skill when the user asks Claude to write a proposal, statement of work, project quote, or engagement proposal to send a prospect. Trigger when the user mentions sending something to close a lead, scoping a project, or phrases like 'write up a proposal for this prospect.' This skill helps produce a structured proposal document. compatibility: Claude.ai, Claude Desktop --- # Proposal Generator ## Purpose Produce a proposal on a fixed structure, so every proposal a user or team sends has the same scope, pricing, and terms layout and nothing is left out. ## When to Use This Skill Use it to turn a scoped opportunity into a document that closes the deal. ## When Not to Use This Skill Do not use it for onboarding an already-signed client or for cold outreach. Do not use it before the solution and pricing are defined. ## Required Inputs - The prospect and their stated problem. - The proposed solution and deliverables. - Pricing and payment terms. - The timeline and any conditions or exclusions. ## Workflow 1. Confirm inputs in one batch. 2. Open by reflecting the prospect's situation and goal so they feel understood. 3. Lay out the approach, then the specific deliverables. 4. State the timeline, investment, and payment terms. 5. List scope boundaries and exclusions, then the terms and the step to accept. ## Output Format Return the proposal in this structure: Situation and Goal, Proposed Approach, Deliverables, Timeline and Milestones, Investment, Scope Boundaries and Exclusions, Terms and Next Step. Produce a Word doc on request; otherwise inline. ## Quality Standards - Leads by reflecting the prospect's problem, not with 'about us.' - Exclusions are stated explicitly to prevent scope creep. - Pricing and terms match what the user authorized. - Uses contractions, no em dashes, no hype. ## Edge Cases If pricing or terms are missing, ask rather than assume, and flag any assumption you had to make. If the prospect's problem is unclear, request the discovery notes first. ## Safety and Limitations Never commit to pricing, deliverables, or terms the user did not authorize. ## Test Prompts 1. Write a proposal for a prospect who needs a full website redesign. Scope is 8 pages, copy included, $9,000, 50% upfront, 6-week timeline. Exclude ongoing maintenance. 2. I had a discovery call with a coach who wants help building her funnel. Turn my notes into a proposal for a $4,500 done-for-you funnel build with a 30-day timeline. 3. Draft a retainer proposal for ongoing social media management at $1,800/mo, 12 posts and 4 reels monthly, month-to-month. Make the scope boundaries very clear.
