    # Monthly Client Report

    ## Purpose
Produce a client report on one fixed KPI layout, so clients receive the same structure every month and can compare periods at a glance.

    ## When to Use This Skill
Use it for recurring client reporting where consistency and clear comparison matter.

    ## When Not to Use This Skill
Do not use it for one-off audits or proposals. Do not use it without the metric values for the period.

    ## Required Inputs
    - The client and service.
    - The metrics and their values for the period.
    - The prior period for comparison.
    - The goals or targets, and any wins or issues to highlight.

    ## Workflow
    1. Confirm inputs in one batch.
    2. Write a two or three sentence headline summary.
    3. Build a KPI table: metric, this period, last period, change, target.
    4. Highlight wins with the numbers behind them.
    5. State areas to improve honestly with a plan, then next month's focus and any asks.

    ## Output Format
Return the report: Headline Summary, KPI Table, Wins, Areas to Improve, Next Month's Focus, optional Notes. Produce a Word doc or spreadsheet on request; otherwise inline.

    ## Quality Standards
    - Comparison period and target always shown.
    - Misses are surfaced with a plan, not hidden.
    - Only supplied metrics are used; gaps are flagged.
    - Uses contractions, no em dashes, no hype.

    ## Edge Cases
If a metric value is missing, leave it labeled as not available rather than guessing. If there is no prior period (first month), note it and report current values only.

    ## Safety and Limitations
Never invent metrics or inflate results. Report honestly even when numbers are down.

    ## Test Prompts
    1. Turn these numbers into my monthly SEO client report: traffic up 18%, leads from 22 to 31, target was 30, ranking keywords from 140 to 167. Goal is more qualified leads.
    2. Build the monthly report for my paid ads client. Spend $4,000, 62 leads at $64 CPL, last month was $78 CPL, target is $60. One win, one issue with creative fatigue.
    3. I need a consistent monthly report template filled with this month's social media numbers for a client, with comparison to last month and our follower-growth goal.
